The Ocelle Necklace

The Ocelle Necklace

Of all birds, the peacock is possibly the most fascinating. The Ocelle necklace pays tribute to it with two opals weighing 16.59 and 6.19 carats respectively, and a 21.18-carat Zambian emerald set as a pendant. The ocelli, the famous spots in the peacock's plumage, are miniaturized and multiplied into a stylized and graphic whole. Each motif is highlighted by an onyx trim. These small feathers partly overlap each other and are mobile enough to lift up slightly, thanks to invisible articulations which constitute the body of the necklace and provide it with extreme flexibility. The opals and emerald are cut and mounted on the pavilion to allow an invisible setting. The upper opal can be detached and transformed to be worn as a brooch.
